Got my iPhone 3G (16GB) today and all is good! ^^ Now I have things to play with during my summer break. Plus, just found out that PwnageTool can now work with with the latest iPhone firmware 2.0.1.

Gonna try it out when I have time to kill next week.

So, over the past month lots have happened… I was back for a short holiday in KL and it was GREAT FUN! Manage to meet up with some new friends, catch up with some old friends, took my parents for a short trip to Penang and ultimately missing my flight back to Tokyo! ahh~~… That’s one ordeal that I really don’t wanna go through again.

Thankfully, it all kinda worked out in the end and I even has a short trip to Macau and get to go for a quick visit in The Venetian. Great fun indeed! ^^

Apart from that, it’s summer here in Tokyo and besides the blistering hot weather - I manage to catch the famous Sumida River Fireworks Festival 2 weeks back. There was so many ppl and although I was there like an hour and a half before the event actually start - I was late and only managed to get some side view of the fireworks. Nonetheless, I love festivals here in Japan cause it’s always packed with ppl and the festive mood is great with everyone having fun and all.

On a separate note… I think I’ll be doing a lot less blogging from now on; as the title suggests … this blog is currently in the midst of a transition. I’m working on a way to archive my current blog entries so that it’ll still remain as it is but I’ll probably put up a more static frontpage with just a feed to my Twitter which I updates more regularly as well as perhaps using Tumblr for other interesting posts.

So.. this ‘might’ be the very last post but it’ll just mark the birth of a new version of benetleong.com (one that requires less updates) hahaha..

First of all, this is due to Mozilla’s new implementation of security measures which is a good thing. The Internet is not safe with so many phishing website running rampant and this will help alert the users better.

Some of the more common SSL errors that you’ll encounter are probably;

• ssl_error_bad_cert_domain - which happens when the SSL certificate is registered for a specific domain name but is used for others (shared hosting and such usually falls into this category).
• sec_error_untrusted_issuer / sec_error_ca_cert_invalid - usually happens when the certificate is self-signed.

There’s a whole lot of others SSL errors that Firefox 3 will alert you on and you can refer to them here.

Some of the errors are quite harmless and thus to bypass, one easy solution is to add an exception in Firefox 3. NOTE: Only add an exception if you’re really sure that the site you’re visiting is the actual site you want. Please review the errors properly before adding an exception.

Now, to add an exception - using Meebo.com as an example
(which is a great and safe site btw ) ;

1. Click on the “Or you can add an exception…” link at the bottom of the notice.


2. Click on the “Add an exception” button and a new prompt will appear.


3. Click on the “Get certificate” button, review the certificate if you want and to proceed - click on “Confirm security exception”.

There… you’ve now added an exception and you should be able to access the secure site now.

Hell yeah~ Apple has delivered again!!! iPhone 3G with GPS built-in and although rumored to be thicker; it is now even thinner! ^^ (one of the main reasons I stuck with an iPod Touch is cause I love the size of it).

Hmmm … can seriously consider upgrading now… hahaha… Hope that the pricing will be similar to what is being announced in US cause that’ll be brilliant!!! w00t!!!

This undoubtedly caught many by surprised… not so much on the issue that that petrol prices will increase but more to the fact that it went up by that much.

So, now an average car with a fuel tank of 50 liters will cost RM39 more to fill up. To make matters worse, TNB will also increase the electricity rates by 18% for homes and 26% for business users.

Now, how do they expect people to cope up with these sudden change of prices??? Do they really think that companies will start paying their employees more next month?

I sure hope that the Govt has more plans in place besides just the annual cash rebates for vehicles to cope with the inflations as I’m pretty certain that prices of everything else will increase due to this.

Last Sunday I went to Tokyo Disneyland with Mei Peng who was so lucky to have won a trip to Tokyo and 2 friends of hers. It was my first trip to Disneyland and I get to be a kid again for a day! Hahaha…

To cut a long grandfather story short; we were there at 7:30am waiting for the doors to open and only left at 10pm. I was tired, a bit burnt (sitting in the hot sun waiting for a parade), a bit broke (cause did some shopping) but had loads and loads of fun! ^^

The only thing that would have made the day perfect was the fireworks that got canceled due to bad weather conditions (perhaps too windy or something cause it sure seems like great weather to me!!!)

Now, next target is the Tokyo DisneySea! hahaha~~

More info about the earthquake here. Seems to have some pretty serious shocks in certain parts… hope everything is fine there. Also, there seems like there’s a couple of aftershocks as well… How to sleep like that?
