Download - WGA Notifier Removal Tool. [Verify it!]

Recently, there’s been a lot of my friends having problems with their PCs as they’re infected with viruses, trojans as well as spywares… One of the main reason is that they didn’t run Windows Update to get the latest fix and patches… and if they run the updates, well… some of them will get notification windows saying that their copy of Windows is not genuine (we know why this is such right? ;) ).

Well, let me make it clear that running Windows Update is important. There’s no argument about it especially if your PC is connected to the Internet. So, how do we work around the “troublesome” notifications by Microsoft??? Good news is that there’s a patch to remove the WGA Notification Tool installed via Windows Update. This patch can be downloaded here.

So, guys and gals… please update your Windows. And “if” you get any of the annoying notification by Microsoft, then just run the patch and remember to change your Windows Update option.

Step-by-Step Guide on Windows Update.

  1. Right click on your “My Computer” -> “Properties”. Select the “Automatic Updates” tab and click on the option “Notify me but don’t automatically download or install them.”

  2. After you’ve done that, you’ll notice a little yellow shield on your taskbar (beside your clock) notifying you of new updates. Click on it and let it download all the updates avalable.

  3. After you’ve completed all the updates and restarted your computer, you might run into one or more of these messages (depending on your “version” of Windows). If you see any of these messages, please download the WGA patch and run it. Restart your computer after you click on “Remove” button.

  4. Finally, you might get the little shield icon again notifying you of latest Windows Update… please see carefully and if it says “Windows Genuine Advantage Notification” then just ignore it. ;) Your PC is now installed with the rest of the Critical Updates by Microsoft and the patch has just removed the notification tool that comes with it.
