Matsushima - Scenic Trio of Japan

Posted on Sunday 18 November 2007

aahhhhhh~~~ finally have some time to sit down and write a post for this almost dormant blog of mine. Been busy with work and all… hence kinda “malas” to be updating my blog always.

Anyway, besides the busy workload… my company had a trip last week to this place called Matsushima. It’s a bit north from Tokyo and it takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to get there by the bullet train and the normal local train. Overall, i had a great time there… the scenery was beautiful, the air was nice and chilly, the food was good, the hot bath was soothing and it was definitely great to get out of Tokyo and see other parts of Japan for the first time! :P

I’ve been here almost 7 months now but I’ve yet to travel out of Tokyo… until last week that is. Well, check out some of the pictures that I took along the trip… Cheers~

More pictures after the jump…

Okay… let’s start with some food shall we?

What’s Japanese food if it’s not raw right? :P

Matsushima Japan
Imagine this… cold weather… and the smell of fresh oyster cooking on an open fire! Too bad the queue was too long and we didn’t have enough time… &#^&*^&@*#!!

Matsushima Japan
This I didn’t try… looks good but I found out that it’s cow’s tongue. 8O

Let’s move on to the scenery…

View from my hotel’s window in the morning… the sun ray breaking through the clouds was nice!

Taken at the port where we’ll be going on a boat ride to see the surrounding islands.

Seagulls… and loads of them! :D Taken on the boat ride. They’re trailing the boat while the passengers are feeding them crackers.

Matsushima Japan
Japanese tea… a bit bitter :P that’s why they provide a piece of that sweet thingy (dunno what it’s called) to go with it.

And of course… yours truly… hehehe…

Matsushima Japan
I only had 2 glasses… I swear!
