WARNING: Blockoo.com - MSN hijacker!
Monday, May 21st, 2007This is a heads up to people using MSN messenger. If you received a link to visit a site Blockoo.com which promises to be able to check your MSN List for people who blocked or deleted you - please DO NOT sign up.
I have seen a couple of friends getting their MSN account hijacked and spammed (it’ll send a message automatically to ALL your other friends on your MSN list) once they sign up because they now got your MSN account name and password.
IF you have given your information; change your password immediately.
Anyway, IMHO… if some of your contacts block you.. they probably have good reason lar… if they’re REAL friends - then they won’t block ma right?
Here’s a screenshot of the website -
UPDATE:
1. This site DO change your nick. (or at least it does until very much recently). If you compare the screenshot that I have previously taken as to the one on the current site - it has been updated to say that it no longer changes your nick. Even though it doesn’t change your nick - it still hijacks your MSN account and signs in.
Refer to the attached screenshot below, this was a previous test I did and the earlier sign-on changes my original nick. Also, noticed that the invitation URL has changed from the original blockoo.com address to a TinyURL address. This is because MSN Messenger server itself has blocked the URL. So much for spamming!
2. Hidden ads to gain revenue. I have tried this using a temporary account that I setup (just to test if it does really works or not - btw, IT DIDN’T). But what I do notice is an ad masquerading as a Windows Live Messenger sign-in alert box. IF you click on it, it’s diverts you to an adult site. Refer to the attached screenshot below, [1] is the “supposedly” Windows Live Messenger alert box and [2] is the adult site link.
So, please be wise and not fall into such websites… browse safe, browse smart.
Cheers~!
UPDATE:
Just a quick update… Since I mention below in my comments that I’ll post a list of ppl who vouch that this works - here it is:- http://www.markchoon.com/2007/05/21/check-who-deleted-or-blocked-you-on-msn/
- http://decayonnet.blogspot.com/2007/05/too-long-for-twitter-too-short-for-blog_18.html
- http://yamiyayam.blogspot.com/2007/05/this-is-fun.html
- http://jollyangels.blogspot.com/2007/05/who-block-you-in-their-msn.html
- http://yuyuan.blogs.friendster.com/_/2007/05/ahhh_nobody_lik.htmlThis list is provided by Alejandro Sena (the owner of the site) and these are testimonials of people who claimed that it worked for them.
So, to be fair… you make your own judgment. Feel free to contact the owner of the site and ask any questions or queries until you’re satisfied. Else, just don’t use the service if you’re cautious about it… I would recommend you to read what’s on the comments of my site as well as other similar sites first.
For me, I’ve no use for it anyway… if people wanna block me on MSN… block lor… I got real friends anyway…
