Curtin Sarawak Graduation Ceremony 2007

It’s over! After spending 4 years in Miri, Sarawak - I finally graduated. Well, some of you might say that a degree is just the beginning… for me, at least it marks the end of one chapter in my life. :P

The graduation night was totally awesome! This year, we had the largest number of graduates from Curtin Sarawak and also the largest turnout.. a total of 1200+ people - guests and graduates combined. Also, this year’s graduation was held in Imperial Hotel which IMHO is a much better venue compared to Mega Hotel. Even though we had such a large number of graduates - the entire ceremony went very smoothly and was very organized. Kudos to the organizing committee for a job well done!

As the ex-Student Council president; I was invited to give a short speech on that night. It was definitely a great experience for me speaking in front of such a large crowd… not to mention in front of all the VVIPs as well! Nonetheless, THANK GOD everything went well although I did stutter a bit during my speech… :P

Possibly the best surprise for me was when I was called on stage and was presented a nice memento by the Pro-vice Chancellor before the ceremony concludes. Heck, that picture even came out on the local chinese newspaper the next day! :)

All in all… it was indeed a very memorable night.

I would like to extend my deepest thanks and gratitude to:

  1. My parents and family members who have been so patient and kind with me. Without them I would have never been able to complete my degree.
  2. My Curtin friends who have stood by me throughout all these years.
  3. The staffs at Curtin Sarawak. It was definitely a pleasure working with you guys.
  4. My lecturers… thanks for not waking me up when I was sleeping in your class.
  5. Bay, Aylwin and Esther for such a wonderful graduation gift.
  6. To Valerian as well for your wonderful graduation gift.
  7. To my friends who sent me SMSes and also electronic greetings.

and last but NOT least… to GOD for the wonderful blessings and guidance HE has showered upon me.
