It’s been a really hectic week. This week was filled with lots of traveling around, eating mandarin oranges, lots of angpows, a bit of gambling here and there, fireworks!!!
, some last minute rush as well as getting to meet relatives that I never knew I had back in my hometown.
On Saturday, we had a family reunion lunch with my entire family except for my second brother and my cousin sister who couldn’t make it since they were still in UK. Nonetheless, my mom worked her wonders and prepared a great scrumptious meal where we all ate till out hearts content. The chu tou tong, pak cham kai, chi ma kai, char siew, siew yok, siew ngap and a claypot dish tasted excellent!
Sunday came and this year our Church even arranged for a lion dance after mass.
In the evening, I went to my cousin’s place and we had a BBQ… there were 12 dogs in the house and they’re all so adorable. Too bad I didn’t take any good pictures of them…

Some pictures of Assumption Church, PJ.

A short lion dance performance at the church compound after mass.
The rest of the week follows with me visiting my hometown back in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan where me and my cousins went to buy fireworks! and played at night… It’s really hard to get them back in PJ and the cops will actually fine each house RM100 on the spot if you’re caught putting fireworks. boo~ hoo~
Initially, I only can listen to sounds of fireworks when my friend Valerian called and wished me Happy Chinese New Year!… he’s back home in Kuching for the CNY celebration and it really has the festivity feel with all the sounds of firecracker popping and blowing. So lucky!
Damn… I really miss my childhood time where we each have our own bags of firecrackers and we will play the entire night with my cousins.

Me and my niece on one of our stop during my drive back to Gemas.

Good ‘ol times… We visited my grandparents old house in Gemas. Lots and lots of sweet memories here.
All in all… at the end of the week, I’m just so tired but I guess I’ll really miss all of this when I’m in Japan. I’ll be flying off in a couple of hours time… so, probably my next post will be from the land of the rising sun.

Tiring leh~
