Vista Transformation Pack
IMHO, Windows Vista looks nice with the new GUI update but unfortunately my PC don’t have the horsepower to support it… Windows Vista Premium Ready demands high specifications just for the sake of beauty. Fortunately, now we have an alternative… Introducing Vista Transformation Pack.
This program will transform your Windows user interface to ultimate Windows Vista look that everyone will never notice it’s the same old Windows XP (or 2003).
Vista Transformation Pack will replace many of the resources in Windows XP/Windows Server 2003. It can change such things as:
- Boot screen
- Welcome Screen / Logon Screen
- New msstyles files (visual styles)
- New desktop and file icons
- New toolbar icons
- Progress Dialogs
- Sounds scheme
- System Tray icons
- New Wallpapers
- Windows Media Player Skins
- And much more…
I’ve given this a try and it’s not bad at all… It’s simple and doesn’t require you to have geek knowledge on computers to achieve it unlike doing it manually using a combination of softwares like WindowBlinds and also DesktopX. The best part is that it doesn’t hog any system resources since it doesn’t really require you to run additional softwares (except if you opt for the Glass effect). Please note that the Glass effect will slow down your machine quite a bit… so, if your system does not have much resources (eg. RAM and CPU power); I recommend that you skip it.
To couple with this… I suggest you look at Google Image to find some pretty nice looking Windows Vista wallpaper. Just to complete it…
Note: This alters your system files so please ensure that you follow every single step carefully. Take the time to create a System Restore point before you install this just in case it doesn’t work out the way it should be. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Cheers~!
