Curtin Sarawak Student Council 2007 Election

It’s over… the Elections for Curtin Sarawak Student Council 2007 ended yesterday night with the counting of the ballots papers by our Returning Officer and his team.

and the verdict is… CUSP won by securing 14 out of 20 contestable positions!

CONGRATS TO CUSP!!!

The results was very close between the two contesting party - CUSP and CSU. This year a total of 1168 students participated in the election. CUSP won with a group votes totaling to 528 while CSU was very close behind with a total votes of 474. The tipping point for this year’s election was the remainder individual votes that brought a slight advantage to CUSP thus enabling the party to secure a total of 8 out of 14 OCMs position.

I would like to congratulate all the candidates from both party who got voted into next year’s Student Council. You have definitely earned the student’s support and I hope that you guys and girls will strive hard to make Curtin Sarawak a better place to study.

To the candidates who did not make it… don’t feel discouraged or despair, there’s many other ways that you can contribute to make Curtin a better place.

To the opposition party - CSU; you guys really put up a good campaign!

Many many thanks to all the supporters of CUSP! ;) Without your votes and support, the party would not have been able to win this year’s election. I hope you’ll continue to support the party throughout the years to come (while you’re still in Curtin) and any feedbacks on the party’s progress is most welcomed. :)

Congratulations again and all the best in the coming year!!! Cheers~!
