FLASHBACK: Visiting KL - not me… (Pt 3)

Posted on Monday 28 August 2006

Wow… it’s been so long since I update my blog that I nearly forgot my password just now… but luckily after a few trial and error; I finally got the right combination *whew*

Anyway, my apologies if you’ve visited my site multiple times to find that there’s no new posts… I have procrastinated long enough… thanks for your patience.

Right… now to finish up what I have started long ago… the final part to my friend’s KL trip (if I still can recall them.. hahaha). Here goes…

(21/7) Day Five: Visiting the Pyramid
Breakfast: Sidestall restaurant @ Old Town, PJ.
Lunch: Hartz Chicken Buffet @ Sunway Pyramid
Dinner: Asia Cafe @ Subang Jaya.

Come day five… our energy level (should I say just mine) is getting a bit low but there’s still so much to see and do - the show must go on! :)

Today we went to Sunway Pyramid and Sunway Lagoon which is basically a shopping complex and a waterpark respectively… It’s been a while since I been to Sunway Lagoon and it seems like it’s under massive renovations… both Lagoon and Pyramid are due for some expansion exercise currently. Frankly, shopping complexes in KL are really getting larger and larger… 1Utama, MidValley (which is currently expanding as well) and now Sunway Pyramid. Oh ya, not to mention Berjaya Times Square. sheeesh… when I think of them.. I already feel tired. hahahaha…

Anyway, we had a really great time in Sunway Lagoon.. since it was Friday and not a weekend there wasn’t much crowd and we can go on the rides as many times as we want.. no queues. ;) After trying out all the rides, had a nice lazy time floating in the surf pool (they even added sand now to the beach area… nice touch) and enjoyed our free waterfall massages.. it was time for lunch!

We packed and went to Sunway Pyramid for lunch in Hartz Chicken Buffet… Just a word of advice - if you’ve been in KL and been shopping for many days, feeling a bit tired and running low on energy… try to avoid having Hartz Chicken Buffet; not that it’s bad food or anything it’s just that it’ll make you sick! hahahaha… the fried chicken and all the varieties are mainly ‘heaty’ food and *ahem* since it was a buffet; we also ate as much as our stomach can fill - which I’m really gonna regret later. ;)

After lunch, we had a brisk walk in Sunway Pyramid, did a bit of shopping… none of my friends wanted to try out ice skating… hahahaha… but I guess we’re all tired anyway. So, it’s back to home and after we rested it’s off to our next destination - Petaling Street!

Hmmmm… Petaling Street. My friends bought quite a number of stuffs and I just bought one or two item. Hahaha.. then you get to see restaurant owners fighting for the tourists to patron their place by offering FREE beers to the “ang-mo”; people walking here and there with their walkie-talkie blaring away some information about god-knows-what as well as lots and lots of people haggling prices with the stall owners. This is ONE skill which I’m terrible at… so, I always ended up paying more that what it’s worth. Sigh…

After Petaling Street.. it’s time for DINNER!! We went to Asia Cafe in Subang Jaya to meet up with a few more friends who are ex-students of Curtin and we spent the rest of the evening chatting, eating, playing a bit of pool before we proceed home around 1am… what a long long day this has been!

(22/7) Day Six: Shopping haven! & (23/7) Day Seven: Sick beyond comprehension!

No… it’s not that I’m lazy that I want to combine the last two days together but it’s the fact that after Friday night… I started to feel a little under the weather and after breakfast with a friend in Klang (we had a really nice treat of Bak Kut Teh); I drove my friends to Sg. Wang to start their shopping spree…. it’s the start of the Malaysian Mega Sale and yes; everywhere is on SALE!!! Sg. Wang, LowYat Plaza and Berjaya Times Square is all within walking distance and I must say these are all packed with people!

So, when I arrived at Sg. Wang… I was starting to feel a bit feverish… I told my friends to go on ahead with their shopping (cause I got not much things to buys also) and I settled down at Coffee Bean and had a glass of Hot Latte… come 3pm I’m totally out! hahahaha… the fever had gone into hyperspeed and being stuck in a crowded air-conditioned shopping complex isn’t really helping either. Anyway, I decided it’s time to go home before I actually faint… hahaha….

So, Saturday came and passed… I spent the entire evening cooped up at home.. swallowed a couple of Panadols and slept through the night. As for my friends… two of them came back with me, one stayed with another group of friends from his hometown and another went to a friend’s place as well… all of them have their personal plans on Sunday so I guess I have my own plan as well - to get better!

Sunday came and I’m still as sick as a cow… the fever reach a record high 39 degrees and no matter how much I sweat and how many panadols I took… it’s still the same. So, after evening mass I finally went to see the doctor. 20 minutes of waiting time, 5 minutes of consultation and RM50 poorer - I got a bag of meds to take for the next 3 days for my illness. ;)

… and so, Sunday night came… all my friends started to gather back at my house. They basically had a free day where they went out to meet with their friends and some of their family members staying in KL. Heard that they went for more shopping and had lots of fun… After packing their sutffs and settling down a bit… we all had a short nap before I drove them to the airport at around 4-5am.

Ahhh…. good riddance… no la, just joking… lolz!!! It was real fun having them over… one week of touring KL (the shopping version), lots of food (but not enough time to go all of them), a total of 786KM!of driving and our wallets feeling much lighter than it was - we ended our semester holiday! :)

one week of driving - 786KM!
One whole week of driving - 786KM! ;)

Cheers~!
