Today I was driving with my mom on our way back home when we suddenly witnessed an old lady falling down by the roadside… Initially when we drove passed her, she looked a bit frail and was sort of limping a little already. Anyway, moments after we drove past her I looked back at my rear mirror and saw that she just collapsed by the roadside. So, I hurried to make a U-turn and we got down to attend to her immediately.

It so happened that she actually fell by the roadside in front of my grandmother’s front gate so my grandmother and my uncle also came out to help. I called the hospital nearby to request for an ambulance while my mom and the rest are attending to her. She had some laceration wounds on her face and I think she might have twisted her arm as well. Anyway, what worried us the most was when we asked her where she stay and her address, so could tell us… all she know was her daughter’s name and her son-in-law’s name which wasn’t of much help and the fact that she lived nearby… So, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive my mom and my aunt drove to the adjacent road and started asking house by house to see if anyone know the old lady.

Luckily, after about 5 minutes, they came back with the old lady’s husband and their maid. So, after a phone call notifying her daughter about the incident and the ambulance arriving shortly after to send her to the hospital; it was all taken care of. *whew*

Well, it’s a good thing that we were there at the right place at the right time… I think if we were not to take the route to go back home… she would most likely had to lie on the road for a couple of minutes before anyone noticed her.

Anyway, everything happens for a reason. Sometimes an apparent chance or unlikely event will create an unexpected situation in your life. Just a word of advice… do take care of your old folks at home… it’s not good to let them wander around on their own.
