Renewing Passport
Got around to renewing my International Passport today… it expired a year ago and since I might be travelling overseas I have to renew it here in Miri…
Anyway, just some word of advice… Here’s a checklist of things to bring along with you:
- Photocopy of your Identity Card
- 2 photographs of yourself measuring 3.5 cm X 5.0 cm (passport size)
- Form A (you can purchase this from the counter for RM1)
- Optional: Photocopy of your Travelling Document (if you’re renewing it in another state)
Also, it’s good to check out their Immigration Dept’s website for more information… but I do find the information there pretty useless. Instead of putting up a simple checklist of things to do and what to bring as well as the sample of photo’s that is approved by the Immigration Dept; they have a flowchart for new passport application that’s meant for their officer and not the public. Sigh…
Anyway, when I got there I forgot to photocopy my IC and also my travelling document and had to actually drive to the nearest shop to get it photocopied cause the Immigration Dept. didn’t have a photocopy machine (not sure if it’s true or not
)
But nonethless, got everything done in about an hour and now I just gotta pick it up tommorrow. Cheers~!
