Magazines at a fraction of the cost
Saturday, February 25th, 2006I’ve been bad… complaining about Miri all the time; I know I’ve bored all the readers of my little blog. So, to make up here’s something that you’ll most probably only find in Miri or that I’ve just been really ignorant about other places. 
Cheap magazines! and when I say cheap, I mean really cheap. Imagine buying a copy of Linux for You (a tech magazine) which sells for RM14.50 on the newstand for RM2.00 and it still comes with the CD enclosed! Or a Mac magazine (which cost a whole lot more cause it’s usually imported) for RM3.00! Their selection can challange any magazine store anytime cause they have everything from Archie comics to tech magazines (my favourite!) to interior design and as well as chinese and malay magazines.
So you must be wondering what’s the catch, right? Well, the only drawbacks is that the magazine comes without the cover (yup, you have the front cover ripped off) and you’ll most likely buy the January issue in February. That’s all. What is losing a front cover compared to saving around 80% of the original cost?
I went to Saberkas the local night market yesterday and bought myself 5 copies of different tech magazines. Total cost: RM13.00. You can’t even buy ONE copy of the magazine if you were to pay the original price. 
Cool isn’t it? hahaha… So, there you have it… a reason why Miri is so cool… Now, excuse me; I got 2 more magazines to consume (no; i don’t eat it… just read).
