Faulty harddisks

Posted on Saturday 28 January 2006

Today I was helping a friend fix his PC at my place and we chatted about some old CPUs lying around in my room. Well, these CPUs are mainly working but lack of a harddisk and I mentioned about how often we actually face hard disk breakdown.

So, since I got nothing better to do… I went on a little treasure hunt in all my room’s drawers and cupboards and this is what I came up with- 7 faulty harddisk in my room! 3 of which are notebook harddisk (the one in the center is from my iBook previously) and the rest are accumulated over these 1-2 years.
7 faulty harddisks!
7 faulty harddisks!

Why haven’t we got rid of it? I really dunno but I guess we’re just too lazy to do it… hahaha…

Anyway, if you noticed ALL of the larger harddisks are all Maxtor and now I just don’t recommend anyone to buy Maxtor harddisk… the last one I bought didn’t even last me 6 months before it went “kaput”! Shit man… I know there’s warranty and all.. but the process of backing up my data and re-installing the Operating system for the umpteenth time is no fun at all!

Anyway, Seagate has bought over Maxtor [related news] and now it’s just competition between Western Digital and Seagate.

So, if you’re gonna buy harddisk… just think about it okay? Cheers~!
