Fearless - Jet Li

Caught this movie on the big screen yesterday night and so, here are some of my thought about this kung-fu action flick. No, I won’t talk about the storyline directly so it doesn’t contain any spoilers ;-) Read on…

Jet Li’s latest kung-fu flick promises lots of action and fighting sequences (don’t you just love it!) but I personally find the main focus is more to his philosophy on life. This movie has some really good fighting scenes, some funny and witty moments as well as a lesson to learn in the end. This movie starts off with a punch, has some lessons to learn along the way and ends with a Bang! The complete package. :-)

If you enjoy his works such as Fong Sai Yuk and the legendary Once Upon a Time in China series, I think you won’t be dissapointed. Set in the olden days (perhaps same era as Once Upon a Time in China) it does feels nostalgic to see him act in this settings again since his last few movies are all western settings. Because this is his last “wushu” film and not his last martial arts film [please read this to find out], there seems like a hidden message at the end of the film and I’m only gonna say this much. You gotta watch it to find it out.

Oh ya, if any of you who can read chinese; please in your free time help to translate the first few scenes where you got chinese characters scrolling on the screen (i think it’s an intro or some sort) as well as the last scene of the movie. Dunno why but there’s no subtitles for those couple of scenes… sad… When we walked out of the cinema; there was this auntie who was also complaining about not understanding the few scenes… hahaha… Regret not knowing how to read chinese. :-P

Okay la… won’t drag on and on about the movie; watch it yourself and you decide. Cheers~!
